This website gives a pictorial timeline of graphic design from origins to the graphic revolution of the 19th Century. It is actually the online syllabus for the history of graphic design class of Washingot University in St.Louis(http://www.wustl.edu). Its got links to THEIR class blog, other links and books to read, font foundries n stuff like that. If im right, it is supposed to be constantly updated according to the course(or so it says).
