Handmade by students and faculty at Brigham Young University (BYU), the opening-title for the 5′th annual Typophile Film Festival, is a bona fide type de force. Uniquely inspired by the 5 Senses, the designers stir up a theme that describes how sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch inform human creativity.
It is amazing to see how differently they have used typography to show these five senses.
Huh! No posts since quite some time. Click on the link: www.veiledcommodity.com this 5 min film talks about slavery in olden days and compares it with modern day slavery. A nicely animated film.

Please excuse my laziness. I will not upload this video BECAUSE THE NET IS SO BLOODY SLOW! But yeah, this video can be viewed on http://www.onewingfly.com/.
The video is called Her Morning Elegance, and Moka showed it to me today. It is also up on motiongrapher.
We saw this in class today amongst other motion-type info graphic videos. It tries to mimic the language of powerpoint but ends up being unbelievably poetic :)
Le Grand Content examines the omnipresent Powerpoint-culture in search for its philosophical potential. Intersections and diagrams are assembled to form a grand 'association-chain-massacre'. which challenges itself to answer all questions of the universe and some more. Of course, it totally fails this assignment, but in its failure it still manages to produce some magical nuance and shades between the great topics death, cable tv, emotions and hamsters.
While I'm on the topic of ads, I found these two advertisements for Leo Coffee (not sure about elsewhere, but very popular in the south). The original score was by A.R.Rahman, and it is said that it led to his debut with Mani Ratnam in the film Roja.
It's interesting to see how the ad makers have tried to adapt the same ad to the 'changing times', while still catering to stereotype of a homely housewife.
The copy roughly translates as "Leo Coffee, the taste that lasts through time." The second ad adds a "the coffee with the traditional flavour" to the same tagline.
More in this line soon. Would be great to see you guys pool in some as well :)
From the lenticular cover that changes with the angle of your hands, all the way to the Z, ABC3D is as much a work of art as it is a pop-up book. Each of the 26 dimensional letters move and change before your eyes. C turns into D with a snap. M stands at attention. X becomes Y with a flick of the wrist. And then there's U... Boldly conceived and brilliantly executed with a striking black, red, and white palette, this is a book that readers and art lovers of all ages will treasure for years to come.
